Easypaisa complaint and safety guide
How to escalate an Easypaisa complaint in Pakistan
An Easypaisa dispute is easier to assess when the complaint separates four things: the bank or payment institution, the transaction recipient, any casino-related claim, and the public forum that may consider an eligible unresolved complaint. Start with Easypaisa Bank Limited, preserve evidence, obtain a complaint reference, and avoid treating escalation as a promise of recovery.
If an account may still be compromised, prioritise account security. Do not share a PIN, MPIN, OTP or password with anyone claiming that these details are needed to investigate or reverse a payment.
1. Identify the institution and the disputed event
The State Bank of Pakistan’s current commercial-bank register identifies Easypaisa Bank Limited as a digital bank. That identity helps direct a banking complaint, but it does not authorise, approve or license a transaction recipient or casino.
Record precisely what happened. A transfer you made, an unrecognised debit, a failed payment with an account deduction, and an account-access problem are different events. Do not describe a payment as unauthorised if you approved it but later disputed the recipient’s conduct. Likewise, a casino’s claim that it accepts Easypaisa does not establish a formal relationship with the bank.
| Item | What to record | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Registered mobile number, account name and safe account identifier | Helps the provider locate the account without exposing credentials |
| Transaction | Reference, date, time, amount and status | Identifies the disputed ledger entry |
| Recipient | Displayed name, number or merchant identifier | Distinguishes the recipient from the payment institution |
| Problem | Unrecognised debit, failed transfer, access issue or recipient dispute | Helps route the complaint accurately |
Never place an MPIN, OTP, full password or unnecessary identity data in an ordinary message.
2. Secure the account before arguing about the payment
Where account compromise is suspected, take protective action through the provider’s recognised support channel or app. Change credentials where safe and available, review recent activity, and secure the mobile number and email connected to the account. The provider-published app listing supplies app identity, a support contact and stated account or payment features, but it is not independent proof that a complaint is eligible or that money will be recovered.
Preserve suspicious SMS messages, notifications and call details before deleting or blocking them. Do not call a number supplied by the suspected recipient merely because it uses the Easypaisa name. Do not install remote-access software or disclose an OTP to a caller promising a reversal.
For additional harm-reduction guidance, see complaints and safety. If the issue arose around gambling payments, review Easypaisa casino-payment risks without assuming that payment availability proves operator legitimacy.
3. Build a transaction chronology
A short chronology is more useful than a long, emotional narrative. List events in order and distinguish what the app displayed from what the recipient claimed.
| Time or stage | Evidence to preserve | Description to write |
|---|---|---|
| Before payment | Relevant message or payment request | Who requested payment and for what stated purpose |
| Authorisation | App notification or transaction screen | Whether you personally approved the transaction |
| Completion | Reference, amount, timestamp and displayed status | What the account record showed |
| Discovery | SMS, balance change or failed-service notice | When and how you noticed the problem |
| First complaint | Reference number and acknowledgement | When the provider was contacted and what was submitted |
| Follow-up | Replies and requested documents | What remains unresolved or disputed |
Keep original files where possible. Screenshots can help explain what appeared on screen, but they should not replace transaction references or account records. Retain both the original and a redacted copy if documents must be shared. Mark estimates as estimates rather than presenting them as exact times.
4. File the first complaint with Easypaisa
The provider-first sequence matters. The SBP consumer-protection material describes a banking-complaint context in which the customer first approaches the relevant institution. Banking Mohtasib Pakistan’s published procedure also concerns eligible complaints after the bank has first been approached. Neither source creates a recovery promise.
A useful first complaint should include:
- your name and safe account identifier;
- the transaction reference, date, time and amount;
- a concise classification of the issue;
- whether you authorised the transaction;
- the recipient details displayed in the record;
- the remedy requested, such as investigation, correction or a written explanation; and
- a list of attached evidence.
Ask for a complaint reference and preserve the acknowledgement. Use the provider’s verified in-app or published support route rather than a number sent by an unknown intermediary. The app listing is provider-published information; it does not independently settle a factual dispute.
5. Keep the bank issue separate from a casino claim
A payment complaint and a complaint about a casino are not automatically the same case. Easypaisa Bank Limited is the financial institution identified in the official register. The recipient is the person or merchant shown in the transaction. A casino claim concerns what an operator represented or did. SBP and Banking Mohtasib Pakistan are public complaint bodies with their own roles and boundaries.
| Party or record | What it may establish | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Easypaisa Bank Limited | Account or transaction handling within its role | That a casino recipient is licensed or approved |
| Transaction recipient | Where the payment record says funds went | The recipient’s legality or entitlement to the money |
| Casino communication | What the operator claimed to the customer | Independent proof that the claim is true |
| Public complaint forum | Whether a complaint may be considered within its remit | A guaranteed reversal, recovery or favourable outcome |
If a recipient promised winnings, a withdrawal or account credit, preserve that communication separately. Do not rewrite a recipient dispute as bank fraud unless the evidence supports that description.
6. Prepare a clean evidence packet
Submit relevant records, not a mass of unrelated screenshots. Use a simple index so each attachment corresponds to a claim.
| Document | Include | Redact or exclude |
|---|---|---|
| Complaint summary | Account issue, disputed event and requested remedy | Speculation stated as fact |
| Transaction record | Reference, date, amount, status and recipient details | MPIN, OTP and password |
| Identity material | Only what the recognised process requires | Unrequested credentials or unrelated records |
| Communications | Relevant SMS, email or app messages in order | Duplicate and unrelated conversations |
| Provider response | Acknowledgement, reference and substantive reply | Nothing needed to assess the sequence |
Keep copies of everything submitted. If the bank requests more information, record the request and your response date. Do not alter screenshots in a way that changes their meaning; create separately labelled redacted copies where privacy protection is necessary.
7. Understand SBP and Banking Mohtasib escalation
SBP’s consumer-protection information supplies public escalation context and forum boundaries. Banking Mohtasib Pakistan publishes a procedure and evidence requirements for complaints that fall within its eligibility rules after the bank has first been approached. These are distinct points: approaching the bank creates a record of the first complaint, while a later public submission must still satisfy the receiving forum’s requirements.
Before escalating, organise the bank complaint reference, acknowledgement, transaction evidence, relevant correspondence and a concise explanation of what remains unresolved. State the remedy requested without claiming that a forum must grant it. Eligibility, acceptance, investigation and outcome should not be treated as interchangeable.
A public complaint route is not a substitute for urgent account security. It also does not prove that the recipient was authorised by Easypaisa, licensed as a casino, or liable for a disputed loss. Broader payment guidance is available in the Pakistan payments hub.
8. Dated source record and boundaries
The following records were checked on 28 August 2026:
- SBP consumer protection: supports provider-first banking complaints, public escalation context and forum boundaries; it provides no recovery promise.
- SBP commercial-bank register: identifies Easypaisa Bank Limited and its digital-bank status in the current official register; it is not authorisation for a casino recipient.
- Banking Mohtasib Pakistan procedure record: supports its published procedure and evidence requirements for eligible complaints after the bank has first been approached; eligibility and outcome are not guaranteed.
- Provider-published Easypaisa app record: supports the app identity, support contact and stated account or payment features only; it is not independent evidence of complaint eligibility or recovery.
Records can change. Check the current requirements of the relevant institution before submitting personal documents.
9. Frequently asked questions
Where should an Easypaisa complaint be filed first?
Start with Easypaisa through a recognised provider channel and request a complaint reference. The provider-first record is important if an eligible unresolved banking complaint is later taken to a public forum.
Which documents should accompany the complaint?
Include a concise chronology, transaction reference, date, amount, displayed recipient, relevant account records, communications and the remedy requested. Exclude passwords, PINs, MPINs and OTPs, and provide identity material only through a recognised process when required.
Why must the bank be approached before Banking Mohtasib Pakistan?
The published Banking Mohtasib procedure concerns eligible complaints after the bank has first been approached. A bank complaint reference, acknowledgement and response help document that sequence, but they do not by themselves guarantee eligibility.
Does filing a complaint guarantee recovery?
No. Filing establishes a documented request for review. It does not guarantee acceptance, reversal, recovery, compensation or a favourable decision from Easypaisa, SBP or Banking Mohtasib Pakistan.
Does Easypaisa availability prove that a casino is authorised?
No. The official register identifies Easypaisa Bank Limited as a digital bank. It does not establish that a casino recipient is licensed, approved by the bank or entitled to receive a particular payment.
